With a beautiful cabbage picked from the garden, I was contemplating what I should do with it. At first I thought of making Ham and Cabbage Soup or Creamy Cabbage Casserole but then I had other ideas! Recently we’ve been loving Crock Pot Kielbasa in Tomato Sauce, so I decided to throw the cabbage to in the slow cooker too! Boom – this Slow Cooker Kielbasa and Cabbage dish was created!

Besides cabbage, throw in potatoes and onions to your slow cooker, alongside some beef kielbasa. I’ve made this kielbasa and cabbage slow cooker recipe a few times in the last month and we love adding carrots in it too!
The ingredients are incredibly simple, you might already have everything in your kitchen!

I’ve been eating this since I was a little girl in Northern Michigan and I love it, I usually add more broth and it’s more of a soup or stew. I love it.
Debi says
I leave the potatoes out and make mashed potatoes instead. I also add caraway seeds.
Tony Blou t says
Add green bell peppers

Sorry, I just saw it is for 4 servings in the thread…..with this all said, should I add just a bit more to the recipe and cook 8 hours on low? I could also put it on tonight as I am planning this as the main course for tomorrow:) Thank you so much for sharing!
Pamela says
Hello, I would add more kielbasa for 5 people – but stick with the same time as listed in the recipe – low, 6 hours. Enjoy!
BBrandt says
Thank you so much; I will let you know how I do;)! Happy New Year!
BBrandt says
How many people does this recipe serve? I am trying it for the first time and need to feed 5 adults. Thanks in advance, Happy New Year!

It’s two days until New Years, and it may be freezing, so I am going to make this dish for our main meal, and I can hardly wait.
Patricia Ballinger says
Can the leftovers be frozen?
Tara says
I just made a similar recipe on the stove top last week and it was G-O-O-D! I need to break out my crockpot and use it more (to make my life easier, obviously!). Since the last recipe was such a hit with the family, I will try this one next. Thanks for sharing!
Alicia says
Is there any way I could cook this on the stove in a large pot to double the serving size
Sandy says
Love this combination – great comfort food!
Steponas says
Hi, is it okay to use fresh (uncooked) kielbasa, or should I cook it first?
Pamela says
You can use it fresh, the 6 hours should be enough to cook it. Please just be sure to check that it’s completely cooked when time is up! Enjoy!
Steponas says
Thanks!
Shasheshe says
Definitely needed some salt added. Next time instead of using apple sausage, I will use smoked sausage instead. Overall, not a bad recipe at all.
Angie Schulte says
I made this a week ago and my husband were in heaven over this. I am making it tomorrow because I have been craving it really bad. Me and my husband love cabbage and keiabosa and have to add more Me at this time but might try a different meat I have leftover pork roast that was marinated and didn’t have noodles last time so I need to either put it over mashed potatoes or bisquets. I am not sure yet what meat I am going to try but my husband want me to try the frozen meatballs so that is what I am going to try this time. Thanks for your recipe and I love cooking out of my crockpot all the time never really use a stove any more. Thanks again.
