Easy Slow Cooker Ham Recipe

You’ll love this recipe because it’s so easy to make and so juicy! All you need to do is throw it in the slow cooker, and come back 6 hours later for sweet and salty tender ham that cuts off the bone so easily!

This is great for any family dinner, but it’s especially our favorite for Easter dinner because it means we get to spend more time with the family on the holiday, and less time worrying about dinner in the kitchen.

How long does ham take in the crockpot?

A 8 pound ham takes around 6 hours on LOW in the crockpot.

What is the best liquid to cook ham in?

Pineapple juice is the best liquid to cook ham in because it’s the perfect sweet contrast to a salty ham. The result is a super juicy ham!

How to Cook Ham in the Slow Cooker

Put the ham in the slow cooker. This recipe is for a 8 pound ham, but if yours is too big and doesn’t fit, you might need to cut off some of the fat on the sides.

With ham in the slow cooker, rub brown sugar all over it. If any brown sugar falls off it, just let it at the bottom of the slow cooker so it makes a sweet juice.

Pour pineapple juice in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Cook and let the slow cooker do all the work!

Remove ham, slice it and serve. Enjoy this ham dinner!

What to serve with ham for Easter dinner?

Ham dinner is easy and should include ham, mashed potatoes and your favorite vegetables – honestly, you don’t need much more! Here’s my favorite ham side dish recipes:

Easy Mashed Potatoes
Creamy Dairy Free Mashed Potatoes
Roasted Brussels Sprouts
Fried Corn and Onions
Crockpot Mac and Cheese
Cheesy Broccoli
Garlic Green Beans
Amish Potato Stuffing
Cheddar Cheese Cauliflower Casserole
Bread Machine Sweet Hawaiian Rolls

Total Time 6 hours
serves 8

Ingredients

  • 8 pound ham cured, bone-in
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 8 ounce can pineapple juice

Instructions

  • Place the ham into a slow cooker. If the ham is too large, you might need to cut off some of the fat on the sides to fit it in.
