The last few afternoons I have been craving a smoothie. We’ve been hard at work gardening and all I want is a cold “pick me up” when I’m exhausted. This does the trick! The best thing about this recipe is that you can match fruit to your liking and create your own. Other examples: banana, orange, pear watermelon, kiwi banana, orange, strawberries banana, blueberries watermelon, orange, pineapple banana, apple, orange pineapple, kiwi orange, strawberries banana, peach strawberry, banana blueberries, apple, banana banana, cherries pineapple, blueberries blueberry, pomegranate, banana There are so many more variations. Isn’t it amazing? I also love this recipe because it gets rid of any fruit where you aren’t sure what to do with. Many times I’m left with a few random strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, a banana that is very ripe, half an orange, etc. Put all the soon to go bad fruits in your blender and you’ll quickly have a delicious drink.
Ingredients
- 1 frozen banana
- 3 strawberries - halfed
- 1/2 cup fresh pineapple - cubed
- 4 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Peel your banana, then cut up into small pieces (about 16 pieces per banana). Put it in your freezer and allow to freeze.
- Once frozen blend your banana with your milk. Get it smooth.
- Add your berries and pineapple.
- Blend until everything is smooth.
- Pour and enjoy!
Notes
Do you know how much I love bananas? I usually eat 2 bananas a day.
But sometimes by the time I get to the last one, it’s brown and very ripe. I don’t like super gooey brown bananas raw, so this smoothie is perfect for it.
I cut it in half then cut into equal sized slices. Then I throw them in a bag and freeze.
Strawberries are delicious. I spotted our first strawberry flowers a few days ago. I can’t wait to harvest our own strawberries this year. They’re always super sweet.
One happy blender!
Enjoy your smoothie, hope you like it! Do you have any other fruit variations to share? Please do!

Depending on how many Hannah’s you need for the recipe, do 2 ripe and 2 brown. It tastes amazing!

I always eat 2 bananas a day. I thought I was the only one! I can only eat them when they’re a little green, though, so I have also been on a smoothie kick, as well as banana bread and banana cream pie to use up the ripe ones. Bananas are the best!
Pamela says

We love smoothies at our house. A few years ago I was on a big green smoothie kick. Handfuls of spinach + handful of blueberries + few strawberries + splash of water/coconut milk/almond milk. Mmmm. My daughter was 3 at the time and she would request her chocolate milk smoothie several times a week –because the blueberries would make the spinach look brownish.

I absolutely love spinach in smoothies. Granny smith apples + spinach is one of my favorites! What a great treat for your daughter. 😛
