Creamy simple blueberry smoothie using just blueberries and milk (dairy or almond), blended together to make a refreshing drink. This makes a healthy smoothie, perfect for breakfast or a snack.
2 ingredient blueberry smoothie recipe
I’m a basic smoothie kind of girl. If I’m making a blueberry smoothie, I want to taste the blueberry and not a whole lot more. I don’t want to measure out spices, I just want to throw a minimal amount of things in the blender and press that pulse button.
This blueberry smoothie recipe is made with just 2 ingredients – blueberries and milk. You can use fresh or frozen blueberries, and you can add any type of milk you’d like (dairy or plant based).
Bonus: my kids absolutely love this smoothie, so sometimes I double or triple the recipe to make one for everyone!

How to Make
Add blueberries and milk into a blender.
Blend until smooth and no chunks of blueberries remain.
Serve and enjoy this refreshing drink!
Do you put ice in smoothies?
This is up to you. If you want it lightly refreshed (like out of the refrigerator), no ice is needed. But if you want a frosty drink, add a handful of ice to the blender (unless you are using frozen blueberries, then ice isn’t needed).
What kind of milk can I use?
You can use dairy milk or plant based, such as almond, oat or soy. I prefer unsweetened vanilla almond milk for most smoothies.
Want to make a thicker smoothie?
If you’d like to make a thicker smoothie, add 1/4 cup plain or vanilla yogurt (whole milk or greek) into the blender.
Want to add protein?
Add a scoop of vanilla protein powder into the blender. Make sure to check out my Strawberry Protein Smoothie too.
Want to make it green?
Add in a handful of kale or baby spinach to the blender. You should also try my Green Smoothie!
How to store smoothie
Want to make 2 of these, one for now, one for tomorrow? Simply cover with a lid and place in the refrigerator for up to 1 day. Shake the jar before serving.
