Hey friends,
Happy Monday – did you have a good weekend? How’s your garden looking? Have you started planting your veggies?
Here’s a garden update with MANY photos! I wanted to show you how we have expanded the garden and also what’s growing in it. So let’s take a look around the garden!
Broccoli – we spotted our first head!
Bell peppers and jalapeno peppers!
The peppers got a little sun burned, but they’re already growing great.
Collard greens – I’m pretty excited for them this year!
Raspberry plants – I’m going to document these throughout the summer to see how bushy they can grow.
Sugar snap peas, here’s box 1:
Peas are doing great, we’ve already had to help support them.
Bok choy, I’ll be picking some of this for dinner tonight. I’m always amazed by how quick this grows.
Seriously, I love this bok choy.
More onions in the sugar snap pea boxes (and a random bean plant that showed up by itself).
Now for the area of the garden that looks a bit Xfilesesque… the tomatoes!
Oh yeah, there’s a ton of roma plants..!
Tomatillo and cherry tomatoes area!
Tomatillos looking like a million bucks, I’m so excited for them.
We’ve already added cages so they can begin climbing.
Lettuce grows so quick, in just a few weeks this will be a full head.
And some florals… just to add color and try to attract friendly bugs. This year we’ve grown a bunch of flowers from seeds to try to battle our yearly aphid war.
The Great Garden Gnome Massacre… don’t you love this dinosaur? He’s my favorite helper in the garden… he just loves eating gnomes.
And here’s some full garden shots. There was a music video shoot going on the other roof, so ignore the people, just admire and smile at the greens!
Hope you enjoyed the walk around the garden!
What are you growing? Have you started your garden yet? If you have pictures, link them up in comments!

I don’t think I’ve ever been more jealous of anyone in my life… IN MY LIFE!! Haha. WowIE! I’m impressed, yo!
To answer your ?’s – I did have a good weekend, thank you for asking. 🙂 Our garden is looking cute but with absolutely nothing planted in it. We’re admiring it anyway, though, because we were able to use our compost for the first time ever. It looks like something you’d buy. I feel proud. Lol. A lot of juice pulp love went into that. Mmm.
And tell cauliflower HI from me, too! 🙂

Your garden is looking epic! You’re so talented!! I always love taking a peek at what you’ve got going on!
PS. Your site is taking forever to load (probably just my crappy computer) but that is why I’m not commenting as freqeuntly- I’m still checking on your posts all the time. But it’s taken about ten minutes just to be able to type this, as the site loads. Sorry lady!! I’ll try it on my ipad from now on….

Good thing I am catching up on all that is happening in your garden, was slipping into a winter coma, better get back into planning for next seasons crop. You inspire me. 🙂

What an impressive container garden! I have some herbs and a little strawberry planter for my son’s edification, otherwise I depend on my CSA to come through for me. Seeing your photos has definitely made me impatient for the CSA season to begin!

I just love the photos of this garden. And it makes me so envious. I wish I could garden in my apartment. I don’t know what I’d grow, but it would be alot lol. Amazing photos and post.

You put so much work and love into your garden and it certainly shows! Wow. I had to tie the first pea shoots to the fence yesterday so it’s growing well here too. I see you use those velcro fasteners too – love them! I started some radishes in a container this year that are doing well. The bunnies seemed to have eaten them all last time I grew them.
Pamela says
Those darn bunnies sure like radishes, hopefully they stay away for you this year Susan! I love watching the peas grow tall, it’s fun to assist them!

THis is the first year I won’t be gardening in many many years and I’m near tears about it. I’m moving in the middle of June – so nothing will be at harvest here by then (stupid zone 4a!) and it will be too late to plant where I’m moving. I thought about trying to plant some early crops, but I was teaching a travel course for three weeks (and it ended up frosting overnight for about a week anyway) in May, so that was a no go too.
However! When I was mowing the lawn today, I noticed some chives that were edible AND a couple cloves of garlic that I must have missed last summer! So, there is something out there!
Pamela says
I saw your chives on Instagram! I’m sad you won’t be gardening this Summer, but what about Fall?
Ashley says
I’m always so jealous when you post photos like this!! 🙂 We keep meaning to start some herbs for the season and still haven’t gotten around to it! I need to make it happen!
Cassie says
So jealous of your large and beautiful garden! It’s so cool to grow your own health 🙂

I so envy your green thumb. I have the opposite of a green thumb, we have a handful of herbs and tomato plants in our garden and I can barely get fruit produced out of those!
