Bread Machine Raspberry Jam Recipe

Did you know that you can make jam in your bread machine? Just like bread, it’s so easy to make! Simply throw fruit, sugar and lemon juice in it and let the bread machine do all the work!

From start to to finish, this jam took a little over an hour in my bread machine. Once it’s done, pour the jam in a mason jar and store in the refrigerator to thicken up. I love spreading it on my morning toast!

This recipe makes (2) 4 ounce jars, or (1) half pint jar of jam.

During June and July we pick lots of raspberries in the garden, so not only does this help us use them up, but it’s easy to freeze to last for months. And who doesn’t love fresh raspberry jam from your garden when it’s Winter time?

Ingredients

  • Raspberries, fresh from the garden or farmers market is best. You will need 3 cups! Don’t have 3 cups of raspberries? You can add some mashed up strawberries to make mixed berry jam too!
  • Sugar, acts as a preservative, making sure it lasts longer.
  • Lemon Juice helps the jam firm up since we’re not adding in pectin. It also adds a tartness that balances out the super sweetness of the raspberries.

How to Make Raspberry Jam in Bread Machine

Add raspberries into a bowl and gently mash them so they are broken up and no longer whole. I use a spoon or masher for this.

Add all of the ingredients into the bread machine baking pan in this order: raspberries, sugar, lemon juice.

Select the JAM course on the machine and hit start.  My bread machine takes about 1 hour, 20 minutes from start to being done.

Remove pan from the bread machine. Note:  the jam will be a little runny but it’s going to thicken up in the refrigerator.

Pour jam into mason jars. Serve as you need it. I love it on toast with a little butter – yum!

Storing and Freezing Jam

Place jam jars in the refrigerator to use within a few weeks, or place in the freezer to freeze, up to a year.   Use as you need it – enjoy!
