Peach cobbler using yellow cake mix
Since this is a peach cobbler with cake mix, let’s talk about what kind of cake mix you can use! I love making this peach cobbler with yellow cake mix—it gives the topping that classic buttery, golden flavor. But I’ve also used white cake mix and even pineapple cake mix, and both turned out delicious. Feel free to use whatever you have in the pantry!
Best summer dessert with fresh peaches
This Crockpot Peach Cobbler is made with 8 cups of peaches—about 12 to 14 average-size peaches. Fresh peaches are always best for that juicy, just-picked flavor, and the best part? You don’t even need to peel them! The skins soften as they cook and add extra color and texture. You can also use frozen peaches—just thaw them first before tossing them in the slow cooker.
How to make peach cobbler in a crockpot
Start by adding your peach slices and sugar to a large mixing bowl.
Give everything a good stir and let it sit for about 10 minutes—this helps the peaches release their juices and soften up a bit.
While the peaches are sitting, lightly spray the bowl of your crockpot with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
Next, pour the peach mixture into the crockpot.
Sprinkle cinnamon evenly over the top.
Then, grab your cake mix and gently shake or spoon it over the peaches, spreading it out as evenly as possible. Don’t stir! You want those layers to stay separate so the topping forms that perfect cobbler texture.
Place the butter slices on top of the cake mix, spacing them out to cover as much of the surface as you can.
Cover with the lid and cook on HIGH for 3.5 to 4 hours, or until the cobbler is bubbly and golden brown around the edges.
Once it’s done, let it sit for about 15 minutes before serving. We love scooping it into bowls with a big spoonful of vanilla ice cream on top—highly recommend.
Storing Leftovers
Let the cobbler cool completely, then transfer leftovers to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. To reheat, microwave individual servings for about 30–45 seconds, or warm the whole batch in the oven at 350°F until heated through.

Can you use Can or jar peaches 🍑
Pamela Reed says
Yes you can! Just make sure to drain them. Also if they were packed in a heavy syrup, you might want to consider reducing the sugar.
