100 CALORIE brownie is a healthy single serving brownie recipe! This easy recipe makes a fudgy chocolate brownie for one in the microwave in 1 minute! These low calorie brownies are perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth!
100 Calorie Brownie
I’m obsessed with this 100 Calorie Single Serving Brownie! If you’re like me then when you make a batch of brownies you need to eat them all. Leave no brownie behind is my dessert motto! Remember these black bean brownies? Yeah, I would eat them all if they were in my kitchen!
Here’s a quick video I made to show you how easy it is to make this single serving brownie!
Single Serving Brownie Recipe
So what do you do when you want a brownie but you don’t want to make an entire batch to prevent the guilt? You make a single serving 100 calorie brownie!
You’re going to love these brownies because not only are they low calorie, but they only take 1 minute in the microwave. That’s right, you don’t have to wait 20 minutes for them to bake in the oven!
If you want to make your brownie slightly more creamy, then add a teaspoon of Nutella. Yes the calories will go up a bit, but it’s still much healthier than the usual brownie.
How to Make a Single Serving Brownie
Mix your dry ingredients (flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt) in a small bowl or a mug.
Add 2 tablespoons of applesauce, no oil is needed for this recipe. I recommend my homemade applesauce recipe if you want to try to make apple sauce at home sometime. Yum!
Then mix all the ingredients up.
Cook the brownie in the microwave for 1 minute. Remove from the microwave and marvel at your beautiful brownie for one! Don’t you love how simple it was to make?
Serve as is or add some sprinkles or powdered sugar on top. I always add rainbow sprinkles because like my daughter says “Sprinkles make everything better!”.
Did you know it’s super easy to make homemade powdered sugar? For 1 cup of powdered confectioners sugar blend together 1 cup regular sugar + 1 tablespoon cornstarch until it’s powdery. Store in a mason jar in your cabinet.
Can you freeze brownies?
Absolutely. If you want to make a few of these to keep on hand, make as instructed in the recipe and then pop them into freezer bags! When you want to eat one, heat the frozen brownie in the microwave for about 15 seconds.

Melanie says
Thank you for this, it was so easy and yummy!
I didn’t have apple sauce so I used mashed banana, it turned out great, then I topped with a squirt of reduced fat cream.
I needed a chocolatey treat that would fit into my calorie allowance, and this was absolutely perfect 🙂 🙂
Pamela says
Hey Melanie, so glad you liked this brownie! Mashed banana sounds awesome so I’ll have to try that!
susan says
what size cute ramekin did you use and did you grease it first? my salivary glands are working overtime here.
Pamela says
Hey Susan, mine are about 3.75-4 inches. I don’t grease, but if you want to add a bit of nonstick spray, go for it.
Erica says
Can I substitute the applesauce with milk?
Pamela says
Hey Erica, I think that should work fine. Make sure to use the same amount of milk.
LeeAnn says
I didn’t have apple sauce so I used half of a apple mashed up and it came out wonderful!
Pamela says
Glad to hear you enjoyed LeeAnn!

Haha, I have an issue with brown sugar like you have with cocoa… I always buy brown sugar at the store thinking I don’t have any and then come home to find like 5 boxes. These little brownies look like the perfect little treat to end the night!
Pamela says
Well with your brown sugar and my cocoa, we can practically open a bakery! Or just make lots of brownies! 🙂
Evelyne@cheapethniceatz says
I think this recipe is way too long and complicated 😉 But seriously I think I just found my recipe for my potluck Sunday. Great tips on icing sugar.
Pamela says
I know! That minute waiting for the microwave is excruciating, I just want that brownie now! 😉 Enjoy Evelyne!

Trying these. I’m a cocoa powder hoarder, too. You can never have enough cocoa powder in the house..it’s like what if I have to use 5 pounds in something… that is how much I have in the house. I mostly use it in cookies or when I make hot cocoa. Now I have a new use for it. Thanks Pam.
Pamela says
5 pounds of it! Now that sounds like a real chocolate dessert! 🙂
Anne ~ Uni Homemaker says
Haha… most of the time when I bake, Chris always want to keep all for ourselves. I always tell him I rather have them fresh… that’s an incentive for him to share the baked goods so I can bake more. 🙂 These single serving brownies are genius! And the ramekins are so adorable. It’s even better when you got them at a bargain price. I’d be on cloud 9 too! 😉
Pamela says
Thanks Anne! Definitely, since you’re making a small amount they stay fresh.. although they don’t last long after coming out of the microwave! 😉
Monet says
Hi Pamela! What a great way to get your brownie fix in! Easy and perfectly portioned. Love it! Thank you for sharing! I’m hosting a giveaway on my blog tomorrow for one of Ryan’s necklaces, and I’d love for you to stop by! I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday!

Christin@SpicySouthernKitchen says
Oh yes! I want to add some Nutella 🙂 ! These are perfect for me because I cannot control my brownie eating. Love that you used applesauce instead of oil!
Pamela says
Nutella is a great addition to anything, isn’t it? 😉
Archana @ FeedingTheFoodie says
I have gotto try this ! I love how quick it is .. and that you made it eggless. I wasn’t liking the idea of nuking eggs – and was holding off trying the microwave cake.. applesauce is brilliant!
Pamela says
Hope you like it Archana! Enjoy!
pam (Sidewalk Shoes) says
These are perfect! I am in desperate need of portion control when it comes to brownies.
Pamela says
I hear you Pam, I have the same problem!
Suzanne says
I just love those quick instant gratification desserts, with extra bonus points for being only 100 calories. LOVE THIS!! Although I would probably add a scoop of coffee ice cream which would bump up that calorie count.
Pamela says
A scoop of ice cream on top sounds like a lovely addition! 🙂
Debra says
Speaking from a household of two humans (and two cats), I love this recipe!
Pamela says
I hear you Debra! Enjoy! And hi cats! 🙂

Isn’t it funny that I’ve just made myself a single-serving brownie??? I wish I had seen your version first, I don’t think mine came up at just 100kcal. This is simply genius! I looove it :-*
Pamela says
Single serving brownie minds think alike! Hope you enjoy this version! 🙂
Mary Frances @ The Sweet Tooth Life says
I tried so many times to perfect one of these – never could. These look so good and moist – so trying this! Thanks for the recipe!
Pamela says
Definitely moist and soft, I love them! Hope you enjoy them!
Joanne says
I am SO happy to know that these are awesome even with the applesauce substitution!! I’ve avoided them because the oil ups the calories so much and at that point I might as well eat regular dessert…but these are now unavoidable!
Pamela says
Totally! The applesauce to me always makes things more moist and creamy, who doesn’t love that?
