Can you make smoothies ahead of time?

The best way to make smoothies ahead of time is to blend it up in a blender, pour into a freezer safe mason jar and then freeze. Place in the refrigerator overnight to naturally thaw so it’s all ready for you the next day.

To save time you can also prepare the ingredients ahead of time by chopping up the fruit and portioning it into sealed jars. Keep the jars in the freezer until it’s time to dump them in a blender with milk and make your smoothie!

Why only three strawberries ? I made this with 1/2 cup frozen pineapple, (leaving out the need for ice cubes) 1 banana, 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, and 3/4 cup Almond Milk. Delicious!! Any fewer strawberries and I can’t imagine there would be a strawberry flavour??

Hi! This recipe is a little older, and I’ll admit I’ve made it with anywhere from 3 strawberries to 1/2 cup depending on how many we have on hand (or how pricey they are at the supermarket that week—sometimes, yikes!). Love your version with frozen pineapple and almond milk—that sounds delicious! I’ll go ahead and update the recipe to reflect the amount we typically use nowadays. Thanks so much for the helpful feedback!

Hey Dalia, if your taste buds want it to be more sweeter I suggest trying to add some honey, agave, maple syrup or grapes to the smoothie.
