This Amish Cinnamon Bread is a quick and easy version of a traditional Amish treat. Made with buttermilk, a few pantry staples, and plenty of cinnamon sugar, this sweet cinnamon bread is ready to enjoy in just over 1 hour—no starter or yeast necessary!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9x5 loaf pan with nonstick spray and then lightly flour.
Cream together butter, buttermilk, sour cream, sugar and egg in a large bowl with hand mixer. Add in flour and baking soda, continue mixing until well combined.
Spread ½ of batter into the loaf pan.
Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle ¾ of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top of the batter in loaf pan.
Add remaining batter on top. And then sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar on top of this.
Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon sugar mixture on top, creating a swirly design.
Place in the oven and bake for 50 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 15 minutes before cutting into slices.
