Pamela's Porky Chili

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 pound Italian Sausage
  • 2 15 oz can chili beans drained
  • 2 15 oz can diced tomatoes not drained
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large yellow onion chopped
  • 1 large green pepper chopped
  • 1 large red pepper chopped
  • 2 stalks celery chopped
  • shredded cheddar cheese for topping


  • Cook bacon in a skillet over medium high heat until crisp. Remove bacon, crumble it and set aside.   Drain grease out of pan. 
  • In the same skillet add Italian Sausage and cook until browned. Add bacon and sausage to slow cooker.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients to the slow cooker and stir so seasonings are completely mixed.
  • Cook on low for 6 hours.
  • Serve in bowls and sprinkle cheddar cheese on top. Serve with some crusty Italian bread!
