head of lettuce cut up into quarters - washed
low sodium chicken broth
salt + pepper to taste
Take your washed lettuce head and cut it up into quarters.
Head olive oil and minced garlic in pan over medium heat. Add your quarters of lettuce, cut side down.
Saute until the side is lightly brown. This takes about 10 minutes.
Turn over, add your chicken broth and bring to a slight boil.
Turn down to low, cover and heat for 15 minutes.
Add salt + pepper to taste.
Serve as desired.
Bibb or Romaine lettuce works well.
You can substitute vegetable broth for chicken broth.
