Homemade spaghetti sauce made with canned crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce. This tastes like a 4 cheese sauce because we add in Parmesan cheese! This sauce might become your new favorite for spaghetti dinner when you don’t have time to cook with fresh tomatoes! Recipe makes 5 cups of sauce.
In a medium saucepan add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, minced garlic, sugar, oregano and red pepper flakes, mixing to fully combine.
Bring to a low boil and then simmer for 20 minutes, stirring often. Tomato sauce can quickly splatter and get messy, so make sure the boil isn’t too high and that you’re stirring it.
Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese, mixing until sauce is thickened and creamy.
Serve over spaghetti and enjoy! Any leftovers can be stored in a mason jar or airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. If you'd like to freeze place sauce in a freezer bag, and freeze for up to a year.
