Soft Cinnamon Carrot Fries for baby led weaning. These tasty fries are perfect for babies starting at 6-7 months and older. Bonus: Toddlers and parents will like them too!
Peel the carrots and then cut the ends off. Chop them into ½ inch thick pieces, about the size of your finger. If any pieces are super long, cut them in half.
Arrange them on a baking sheet directly or use parchment paper for easy cleanup. Pour olive oil on top of the carrots and stir so they’re all coated. Add a pinch of cinnamon on top and stir once again so they are single layer on the baking sheet.
Bake for 20 minutes, stirring them halfway to prevent them sticking to the baking sheet. After 20 minutes, test softness by putting a fork into one. If the fork slides in easily, they're done. If it doesn't, add a couple more minutes.
Allow to cool before serving your baby a couple of carrot fries.
Carrot fries stay good in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or can be frozen for longer term storage.
Want to serve as carrot mash? Place the carrots in a bowl and mash with a fork until you get the consistency you want. If you want carrot puree, put carrots in a food processor with a 2 tablespoons of water and pulse until smooth. Serve with a spoon to baby.
