HOMEMADE STEWED TOMATOES

Use your garden fresh tomatoes to make delicious homemade stewed tomatoes that are simmered on the stovetop for 30 minutes.

INGREDIENTS

tomatoes salt sugar dried parsley green pepper

WHAT KIND OF TOMATOES SHOULD I USE?

Roma or Beef tomatoes work the best for stewed tomatoes. You can even mix them if you have to. 

HOW TO MAKE

1. Place the tomatoes in a pot of hot water for a quick dip.

2.  Remove from the pot, place in ice bath and peel the skins off the tomatoes.  They should slip off easily.

Let the stewed tomatoes cool down and place in freezer bags.  Freeze and then defrost as you need them.
