Polish  Cabbage Rolls

EASY OVEN BAKED FAMILY RECIPE

Classic Polish Cabbage rolls are cabbage leaves that are stuffed with  ground beef, white rice and a tangy tomato sauce. These homemade cabbage rolls are my family's favorite! 

INGREDIENTS:

Cabbage Water White Rice Tomato Soup Brown Sugar • Worcestershire Sauce • Ground Beef • Onion • Egg • Salt & Pepper

Parboiling cabbage is the easiest way to remove cabbage leaves without tearing them.

1. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage with a sharp knife.

2. In a large pot of water, bring to a boil and cook until cabbage leaves are easily pulled off.

3. Carefully remove the cabbage leaves from the head.   The best leaves for rolls are 3-4 layers in.     Set aside the outer leaves for later.

1. Place the outer cabbage leaves in the bottom of the baking dish.

2. In a small bowl, mix tomato soup, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce together.

3. Mix together ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onion, egg, salt, pepper and a little bit of the tomato soup mixture.

4. Evenly fill 8 cabbage leaves with all of the ground beef mixture.

5. Roll each cabbage roll up, and place a toothpick in each to keep it closed.

6. Place the cabbage rolls in a baking dish.

7. Pour the remaining of the tomato soup mixture on top of the rolls.

8. Add a couple more cabbage leaves on top of the rolls to prevent them from drying out.

9. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the oven.  

SERVE AND ENJOY!

Remove the foil and leaves on top and enjoy! Serve with mashed potatoes or dinner rolls for a wonderful family dinner.
