Homemade tomato paste is the perfect way to use up lots of garden tomatoes!

All you need is tomatoes,  salt and garlic

Slice the tomatoes in half.

Add tomatoes and garlic  in food processor.....

...and pulse until smooth.

Pour tomatoes into  a large pot.

Depending on the size of your food processor you might have to do a few batches.

Add salt and stir.

Bring to a boil and simmer.

After a few hours it will break down into tomato paste.

Use immediately or place in ice cube trays to freeze.

Once they're frozen,  pop them out.

And place in freezer bags for long term storage.

This recipe makes one and a half cup tomato paste, but it can easily be adjusted for more or less tomatoes.
