HAM & CABBAGE SOUP

I ALWAYS MAKE THIS SOUP as a new year year recipe!

This HAM AND CABBAGE soup is a mix of shredded cabbage, diced ham and vegetables, all simmered together in a savory broth!  It's easy, it's delicious, and I think you're going to love it!

INGREDIENTS:

butter green pepper onion celery carrots flour chicken broth cabbage ham salt & pepper

HOW TO MAKE

1. Saute green pepper, onion, celery and carrots  in a little butter in a large pot.

2.  Once the veggies are soft, add flour into pot, stirring to coat the vegetables.

3. Add chicken broth and cook until boiling.

4. Add cabbage, ham, salt and pepper. Stir until boiling and then reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes.

5. Serve and enjoy this delicious ham and cabbage soup!

COOKING TIPS

– Cut all of the vegetables into similar sizes, so that they cook at the same rate. – I typically make this soup with chicken broth, but you can also make it with vegetable broth or beef broth. – This soup keeps in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
