The last few days I spent in Pennsylvania visiting my dad.  We usually only get to see each other once a year, so it’s always special as he’s so important to me.   So Matthew and I rented a car and drove out to visit him, along with a Keurig 2.0 to gift him, and to have hot chocolate and tea parties with me – of course.

We did lots of things in our short 2 and a half days visiting.  We saw lots of my family, ate too much food, drove up many hills and on the way back to NYC we stopped off at Christmas Village. If you’ve never visited, Christmas Village is exactly what it sounds like – it’s a tourist attraction due to their village they made with lights and decorations. It’s only open in November and December and it it attracts people from all over.  I used to go there all the time as a kid, so I wanted to share it with Matthew.  Not  much has changed but it’s still always fun (plus hot chocolate and soft pretzels because it’s always freezing!).

On the first night arriving, we met up with all the girls of the family.  From left to right, that’s me (hi!), my sister Tammy, my mom and my niece Cierra (who is now as tall as me!).  I got some steamed clams for dinner and a cream puff for dessert… A+ dinner!

The majority of time I spent visiting my dad.  We told stories, we laughed, the boys made fun out of me.  Just like every Christmas! 😉
But then the surprise came! My dad loves his coffee and tea, he drinks a few cups every single day. So what better gift to give to a hot drink lover then the  Keurig 2.0 brewer?  I’m a big Keurig lover, I can’t live without mine (I almost took it on vacation with me once) so I knew he would love it!

So after we cheered and got it out of the box, I set it up for him and showed him how easy it was to work!

He picked Pike Place Roast Medium.

What I love about the Keurig 2.0 is that it has a touch screen now and gives you multiple new options to brew your hot drink. It’s also very smart with Keurig 2.0 Brewing Technology™, which reads each lid to give  you a perfect beverage every time.

Along with my English Breakfast tea, we were ready to sit and have our tea party.  It was so great seeing my dad and I know he’s reading this – so hello Dad!

Oh and I always suggest eating pastries along with your hot coffee or tea… trust me! 😉

What’s your favorite holiday hot drink?

  • Mmmm Hard to answer what best to drink…Depends on the mood…Although must say you’ve got brilliant tastes, Pamela. My Keurig came into our lives as an obligatory attendance at a silent auction for my husband’s boss’ kids school =) Anyway my extravagant purchase (which I got for 1/2 of the retail price) turned out to be money saving and delicious! … But I diverge from my point of saying how wonderful and how much sweeter is when shared with family. And significant others – of course!

P.s. I now want to visit the Christmas Village in Pennsylvania =)

  • What a great post! It looks like you and Matthew had a blast. We’re actually heading down to PA ourselves soon, too. 🙂 Oh, and favorite holiday drink? Coffee! I always drink coffee in the morning, but the holidays are the perfect time to brew up another cup in the evening, too. Thanks for sharing! #client

  • Aaw, I’m so glad you got to go back to PA and visit your family! Looks like you had a great time and your dad must have loved spending time with you and getting the Keurig 🙂 Christmas Village looks so pretty too!

  • I am so glad you were able to see your family and I bet your dad was just tickled pink to see you and a hot cup of Jo to start his day. I have not seen any Christmas villages here in HK… LOL but have seen a commercial on TV that is about Christmas lights and the guy says, “If you can’t see my house from space then it is not worth doing.” Have you seen this? It always makes me laugh. Wishing you and your family and kitties a very safe and happy holiday

    • I’ve never seen that commercial but it sounds amazing! I’m going to search for it on Youtube right now! Happy Holidays Bam! 🙂
