How Can Cute Cats Be So Stinky Sometimes? Investigative Reporting!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Fresh Step at Target for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

I hope my cats don’t read this and think I’m disrespecting them. Cause I’m not. It’s just a question I often wonder…. How can my beautiful angelic little furry cats be so stinky sometimes?  Happy I'm home from work! #brother #mainecoon #blackcat #love #catlady

If you have cats you probably know the situation.   Everything will be perfect at home.   It’s a great day.   You’re on your computer winding down, a cup of tea in one hand, when suddenly the smell hits.  You glance around the room.  Then you hear it. Scratches in the little box.  Scuffle of paws on the ground.  Then you see a cat burst out of the litter box, throwing litter everywhere.  They run away, leaving you in the now stinky area of the house.    Suddenly all the cats are now teamed up, glancing at you, making it feel like you caused the smell.

Or even worse.  I’ve had my fair share of friends over for dinner or game night, when right before they arrive, your cats will turn your vanilla candle smelling home into a poop zone. You’ll race across the clock to quickly clean the litter box, spraying scents to try to hide it, all the while glaring at your beloved cat who is evilly smiling at you whispering “Hahaha”.

But even though sometimes cats can be wicked, I love them.  Actually I love them alot.   I love them so much that I don’t complain about cleaning their litter boxes or any cat butt cleaning that comes up.  Let’s just say sometimes you have to get really personal with your felines.

But now it’s like the Cat Heavens opened and Angel Cats are singing on us because 2 of my favorite companies teamed up to create new Fresh Step® with the Power of Febreze™.  That’s right.  Fresh Step® with the power of Febreze™ to eliminate the odors before they start.  That means no smelly houses.  That means no smell when you’re trying to relax with your tea. That means no running around crazily to hide a litter smell before your friends come over.  Oh gosh, I’m so excited for this. It’s the small things in life that matter.  And to make it even better, this is a lower dust formula compared to the previous formula which makes me a happy Cat Mom because I don’t like my babies to be exposed to dust when they’re hiding (or not hiding) their business.

So I turned to my floors and crawled around to do a bit of Investigative Reporting!  I interviewed:

Brother Bear, 6 years old, From the Bronx, Now Lives in Brooklyn

Goblin, 2 years old, From Queens, Now Lives in Brooklyn

Toes, 1 year old, From Brooklyn, Now Lives in Brooklyn

*Xanadu and FiFi Bofinkles could not be wakened up to do this interview*

I wanted to know what they thought of the new Fresh Step, how come they are stinky sometimes, and how much they love their mom (hard hitting questions!).

First up, Brother Bear.
“It’s ok. It removes the smells that my stinky sisters leave.  I’m not stinky. Now I’m embarrassed Mom. Please leave me sleep”. “And yes Mom, I love you.” Fresh Step Febreeze_2

Goblin: “Don’t look at me Mom. I’m not stinky at all.  Look at how pretty and fluffy I am. There’s no way I can be stinky.  Ask my Sisters. And yes, Mom, you’re the best.” Fresh Step Febreeze_1

Toes: “My Brothers said what about me?  I don’t stink, they do! I’m in shock.  But yes, I like you Mom, because you rub my belly and I can persuade you to feed me the good cans of food.” Fresh Step Febreeze_3

“Let me get a better look at this litter box”. Fresh Step Febreeze_4

“Yeah, it looks like it can do the job.” Fresh Step Febreeze_5

“Now let me go back to sleep”.

Want to get your house smelling good?  Then get the new Fresh Step® with the power of Febreze Available at Target during 3/20-3/26 and get a $5 Target Giftcard when you buy 2 packages of litter.  Because I know you probably love Target too, I’m sure you can find a special present for yourself to buy!
