I love pumpkin pie. Actually, I don’t just love it, I LOVE it! When I think Thanksgiving, I think about this delicious creamy sweet pie. It’s really the only time of the year I make a full pie and eat the entire thing. Okay, I lied about that part, I do it more than once a year.
So with us picking so many pumpkins from our garden, I decided to make my favorite pumpkin pie from scratch. You’re going to love how delicious and fresh this easy pumpkin pie recipe is! It will become one of your favorite Thanksgiving desserts to make (and eat)!
Using fresh pumpkin purée straight from a pumpkin makes this pie that much tastier! This is one of those recipes where it’s so near perfect, I probably won’t ever try another pumpkin pie recipe again!

Ingredients In This Easy Pumpkin Pie Recipe
The ingredient list is actually super simple. This pie requires just 8 ingredients, including the crust! You’ll need:
- Pumpkin Purée (fresh or canned)
- Sweetened Condensed Milk
- Spices – cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg
- Pie crust
- Whipped Cream is optional, but highly recommended
How to Make Homemade Pumpkin Pie
This easy pumpkin pie recipe won’t take more than 15 active minutes. You’ll start by preparing the pie crust. I like to keep baking as easy as possible and just use a store-bought 9-inch crust.
Now, mix all of the filling ingredients. In this easy pumpkin pie, condensed milk adds a creamy, dreamy richness that you don’t find in most pumpkin pie recipes.
Brush or spray your pie plate with oil and lay down your pie crust carefully. Pour the wet batter into the pie crust. I have my eyes set on this Fluted Pie Pan for all my pie recipes. I personally love a pie with the groovy edges. Makes it a complete comfort food for me!
Bake the pie for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Your pumpkin pie will still have a slight jiggle when cooked, but not be wet or wiggly. Make sure you allow the pumpkin pie to cool after baking. I usually cool my pie on a cooling rack to speed up the process.
You can serve pumpkin pie at room temperature, but it also tastes great chilled or even a little warm from the oven. I like to add some festive whipped cream topping for extra deliciousness!

Easy Pumpkin Pie RecipePrint
- 15 oz can of pumpkin puree
- 14 oz can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 9 inch unbaked pie crust
- Whipped Cream
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Mix pumpkin, milk, eggs, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and salt in a bowl.
- Pour into crust and bake for 15 minutes.
- Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking 35 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool.
- Decorate the top of the pumpkin pie with whipped cream.
