These taste like FRENCH TOAST! EASY, YUMMY breakfast sandwich made in 2 MINUTES! This Maple Syrup, Egg, Ham and Cheese Sandwich recipe is great for a quick breakfast! You can freeze the sandwiches to make ahead too!

It’s almost September! Yipee!  You see, I’m a Fall girl so I love everything about these next upcoming months.  But with Fall, comes early mornings.  Maybe it’s back to work (or maybe it’s regular go to work), getting your kids on the bus, making your loved one a on the go sandwich, or throwing together a quick dinner sandwich after basketball practice.  This Maple Syrup Ham, Egg and Cheese Sandwich is crazy good, will fill you up and the best part, it’s made in seconds.  I’m serious.  You can literally have this made in under 2 minutes!

The sandwich is based on a popular fastfood sandwich, but homemade so you know what’s going into it and you can use the best ingredients.  It hits the spot of being savory (ham, egg, cheese) but with a touch of sweetness (maple syrup).   You can serve it up for breakfast, pack it for lunch (just put the syrup on the side) or make for dinner.  I’m a fan of breakfast for dinner, so make these up and serve with some greens on the side and you’re set.

Let’s start with the ingredients.  First, you need a quality sliced ham. I’m going to be making 4 sandwiches so I’ll use 4 slices of ham.  If you’re going to make a solo sandwich just use one.  By the way, these sandwiches freeze great if you want to make some to stock up for extra busy mornings.  Just don’t put the syrup on them when freezing!

Next, some goodlooking quality bread.  I used sourdough because it’s delicious.

You’ll need one egg per sandwich.

And now my amazing egg trick.  I do this all the time.  Crack a egg in a microwave safe mug.

Give it a good mix with a fork.

Now throw it in the microwave for 1 minute.  Boom, Boom, Boom the egg is done!

Now start arranging this beautiful, delicious sandwich.
Bread, ham and egg first.  I usually cut the egg in half so it takes up the entire bread length.

Throw a slice of cheese on top.

Now throw it in the microwave for 20 seconds.  This is enough time to melt the cheese and cook the ham.

Throw your other slice of bread on top.

And give it a little push down action.

And now.. the magical syrup ceremony moment!  Start drizzling your syrup on top.

And keep drizzling because you deserve it.

I used to microwave eggs in the morning all the time when my girls were little. Quick easy breakfast! I guess I forgot about quick and easy since I don’t have to push two girls out the door every morning for school. What a delicious sandwich! A little smear of mashed avocado and I’d be in heaven!

I’m so happy to know that I’m not the only one who puts syrup on other things besides pancakes. I even tried it on spaghetti after Elf… don’t try it.

I used to do eggs like that when I was ending my kids off to school. Now I do them for the dogs! What a perfect little breakfast sandwich!

This is a sandwich that I would have never in a million years thought to create with the
syrup. It’s inspired! I love it. Quick is always a winner, but I don’t want to sacrifice delicious.
This takes care of that issue.

I’ve got to try microwaving an egg next time – your egg looks so fluffy Pamela – btw – this is such a quick and tasty sandwich!

I am a fall girl too – all the way! Especially as I’m sitting here with two fans going and still sweltering! I love anything with maple syrup on it, that’s for sure.
