This Nutella Swirled Banana Coconut Bread you guys.

This Nutella Swirled Banana Coconut Bread!

Nutella Swirled Banana Coconut Bread recipe. This delicious banana bread recipe has chocolate chips inside of it!

It’s delicious.  It’s moist.  It’s chocolatey.  It smells the best.  I’m in love.  Do you know how good it is? My banana hating husband (GASP) runs to the kitchen when I make it to steal the first piece.  I hit his hands though.  The first piece is always mine.

The main ingredients are bananas, Nutella (or other chocolate hazelnut spread) and coconut flakes.   That’s what creates all the magic in this bread.

This recipe needs 2 bananas.  Riper is better.  Plus aren’t ripe bananas gorgeous?

Then you’ll need your Nutella and coconut.  When the Nutella bottle is done, it might be cleaned completely with a combination of my finger/spoon/tongue.  Please don’t ever let any Nutella go to waste.  It’s precious.  The coconut adds a little crunch to the bread and a little extra flavor.  It works perfectly in combination with this bread.

One hour in the oven and your home will be smelling like banana paradise.  Then you’ll take it out to cool down for a few minutes.  During these minutes just sit there and stare at your gorgeous Nutella Swirled Banana Coconut Bread.  Oh goodness, I love you bread.

Look at those Nutella swirls!  I’m in love.

Each piece has a bit of chocolate in it. The Nutella keeps it’s form and adds some creaminess to each slice of the bread. Nutella Swirled Banana Coconut Bread. One of the most delicious banana bread recipes that has creamy chocolate inside of it!

The obstacle is going to be eating only 1 slice.

I might be a bad girl sometimes and eat 2.

It’s amazing for breakfast.  It’s perfect for a after school snack. How about a afternoon snack at work?  Or dessert?  Or maybe just a piece whenever you want it because you deserve it!  This banana bread is my current favorite breakfast.  I love that it’s already made so I can just wake up, cut a slice and grab a seat to eat it.

Alongside tea, it gets my morning started just right.  Added bonus? Sprinkle some additional coconut on your slice.  It’s purrrrrfect.

Sniffle Sniffle.  Sneeze.  Please don’t be alarmed, you can stay in this thread.  I won’t get you sick.  I promise.  Well I can’t promise, but I shouldn’t get you sick.  I mean there are screens between us, that will protect you, right?  You might have read in last week’s post I was feeling a cold coming on.   A few days later and I thought I was feeling better, I was able to eat a entire bowl of soup!  And then suddenly on Saturday I started to feel it again.  The sniffles were in high gear and both my ears started hurting. The one hurts so bad that it sometimes wakes me up in the middle of the night.  It’s quite a bummer.    So want to have some tea with me to discuss how much you hate Fall time colds? There’s a few reasons why colds aren’t cool.  Read More

#TastefullyCrafted With Green Mountain Gringo Salsa

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Green Mountain Gringo all-natural chips and salsa. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you guys tried Green Mountain Gringo Salsa?  It’s delicious and is all-natural made in Winston-Salem North Carolina.  It’s gluten-free vegetarian salsa is made of only all natural ingredients, meaning no additives or non-natural preservatives.

Gmg3_zpsb812dc6b

Their slogan “Just what it needs and nothing it doesn’t” is a pretty great way to approach recipes, especially when it comes to fresh bowls of salsa.  Their ingredients include hand-picked vegetables, hebs and spices  – everything it needs.  How do you think it should be served? Over Green Mountain Gringo’s all-natural non-GMO tortilla strips of course!  Wouldn’t this make a great snack or a appetizer for taco night?

Scrambled Eggs With Bacon

This is not scramble eggs with bacon on the side.

Oh no.

This is scramble eggs with bacon.  Together.

I hope I just scrambled your idea of breakfast.   So now let’s enjoy these together.

Scrambled Eggs With Bacon_6

Breakfast is one of my favorite meals of the day.  On fast days I grab a bowl of cereal. In the Winter time it’s usually toast, figs and tea.  But on extra special days and weekends, it’s a full on breakfast.  Sometimes it’s pancakes.  Sometimes it’s waffles.  Sometimes it’s a egg burrito.  But my favorite breakfast? Scrambled eggs.  As a kid my Mother would make me scrambled eggs while she enjoyed hers “dippy” style.  I would usually lather my scrambled eggs in ketchup.  Ok I’m lying, I still do this.

Pumpkin Pudding Cream Pie is a delicious no bake recipe!  Ingredients include instant Pudding, Cool Whip and pumpkin puree.  It’s the perfect Fall pumpkin recipe!

“It’s too early for pumpkin” is one statement you’ll never hear me say.  Never ever.

It’s always time for pumpkin  Always.

Because I have so much pumpkin love we grow pumpkins twice a year, so we have a few to harvest in the Summer and a few to pick in the Fall.  Fall’s pumpkins are already planted and have started to produce a few flowers.  We were planned to have 2 pumpkin plants but somehow we have 10.  I say “somehow” because the truth is this is my doing.  I always want more pumpkins so I saved all the seedlings and secretly planted them.  Surprise, a rooftop pumpkin patch!  A dream come true (I hope!)….

Grazing for Snacks

This post brought to you by Graze.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

When do you snack the worst?

For me it’s late afternoon or right before bed.  I’ve been known to bring a (big) handful of sour worms to bed with me.  But surprisingly, a handful of neon sour worms coated in sugar isn’t always the best choice (shocking, I know!).

I’ve been introduced to Graze and I’m hooked so I had to share them with you! Graze.com is a subscription snack box service founded 5 years ago by 7 friends in the UK who got sick of the same old snacks and wanted a better way to snack. Launched in the USA in January and already has over 200K American subscribers, called “grazers.”  I’ m a grazer!

Aloe Vera Mint and Lime Juice + Juice Giveaway!

This post brought to you by ALO Drink. All opinions are 100% mine.

When you think Aloe Vera what do you think of?  Probably sunburn.   As a kid my parents would slather Aloe Vera on me after every day at the beach on family vacation.  As a adult Matthew slathers Aloe Vera on me after every long garden day.  What can I say? I’m pale and burn.

Aloe Vera Plant photo b5d6b58c-8025-4240-b485-9e837400f851_zpsd79a8f32.jpg

(This is aloe vera!)

I’m here to change your ideas of Aloe Vera though (but I’m not here to change your ideas of always covering up in the Sun!).  Do you know you can drink Aloe Vera? Oh you bet you can and it’s totally delicious.   I’ve recently come to love ALO drink juice that has the natural benefits of real aloe vera and is handpicked from their organic aloe vera farm.   All of this goodness comes straight from the leaf leaving it very natural.  Aloe Vera is crisp and refreshing in flavor, perfect for a Summer afternoon.   Using the ALO Comfort variety which combines Aloe Vera with Watermelon and Peaches, I wanted to keep it simple by making it my own. I love the taste of lime and mint is a crazy producing plant right now so I knew they’d be be the perfect addition in the blender.  With a handful of ice I had a cold and healthy drink to enjoy!

A Look Into My Office, Trying to Work at Home With Cats

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Sharpie, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia  #StaplesBTS http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

Hi everyone, I thought I’d take today to do a little post to show you where the blog takes place.  You know, not in cyber space, but in reality.  The place where I write the blog posts, take photos of recipes and pin brownies in my pajamas at 2AM because I can’t sleep.  The last one is never a good idea, trust me.

I’m always interested in where other bloggers are inspired by.  Are you writing your recipes as you cook on  your laptop in the kitchen?  Are you doing posts in bed late at night because there’s not enough hours in day?  Or do you have a dedicated work area in your home?

We’ve had a separate studio space for our  R+R work for over a year now and it was a great choice.  We decided to get this space to try to separate work from life.  I’m going to be honest and say it’s hard to separate life, love and work when  your creative partner is also your husband.   Lately I’ve been trying to set up a strong rule that we aren’t allowed to discuss work at home, we can’t work that late and we have to take off 1 day a week.    I break all these rules as does Matthew (he’s worse I promise you).    None of these rules really come into effect with Brooklyn Farm Girl.  As the blog continues to grow, I sometimes find myself overloaded with new posts, sponsored posts and reviews.  Suddenly on top of my day job of being an artist, there’s blog deadlines and blog advertisers to please.   It’s complicated and it’s long hours, but it’s also exciting and I’m a proud mama bear of BFG.    Lately I’ve been trying to split my time in half – half at the studio, half at home with the blog.   The problem here is that the blog is at home which means it’s always on.   I really wish I could have a strict schedule and kick myself off the computer during the evening but I have no self will.   Is anyone else work obsessed?

Hello Cereal Addicts. Have you tried Great Grains?

The title says it all.  Are you a cereal addict? Please don’t be afraid to raise your hand.

I was out today and it sure was hot.  By the time I got home I was sweaty, grumpy and muttering crazy things about Fall, pumpkins and apples.   Then I had one thing on my mind, something guaranteed to change my mood immediately.  Cereal.  I dropped my bags at the front door, slid my shoes off, pet all the cats (cause I had to) and then grabbed a bowl out of the shelf.  Then I opened another shelf, grabbed my favorite cereal of the moment and poured.  Then I added some almond vanilla milk on top and sat on the floor, surrounded by cats, eating a bowl of cereal. I was cheered up within minutes.   Cereal makes me feel awesome, like a super hero, like I can save the world with a bowl and spoon.

4 Minute Meals For Busy Days

This post brought to you by American Frozen Foods Institute and the Frozen Food Roundtable. All opinions are 100% mine.

Do you ever feel like you are playing catch up and even though you check a few things off on your list, somehow a few more things get added so you feel like you’re at the same spot?   Me too.

This week is busy.  Real busy.    We got home from a trip on Sunday afternoon so the week prior and this week has just been go, go, go!

Right now we’re working on lots of new projects, lots of new blog posts and there’s the garden which is full growing mode right now! Yesterday our day was so packed we got home and had to pick onions and tomatoes as it started to get dark.    I used my phone as a flashlight to pick tomatoes… is that a first?

With busy schedules sometimes you need a quick meal to grab for breakfast and lunch.    You just want to roll out of bed, open the freezer and have it ready in 4 minutes.  That way you can run out the door into the  humidity to get to work as soon as possible (hello air conditioning!).
